Medical practices can order intercultural interpreters from the Eastern Swiss mediation organization Arge Verdi. They translate in about 70 languages. The costs for the assignments are covered by the Office for Health. Intercultural interpreters can assist with linguistic and cultural understanding.

All individuals who live or work in Liechtenstein have access to mandatory health insurance. Mandatory means compulsory.

This means that all individuals have access to medical care. In the event of illness or injury, material and monetary benefits are received.

Children and adolescents up to the age of 16 do not have to pay anything for mandatory health insurance.

The cost of health insurance must be paid monthly. For individuals who are employed, the employer covers half of the health insurance costs.

Premium Subsidy

Individuals who do not earn much are entitled to financial assistance for health insurance costs. This is called premium subsidy.

The preventive examination is a free, voluntary service for children and adults. Its purpose is to detect diseases as early as possible.

All individuals who live in Liechtenstein and have residence permits B, C, or D will receive an invitation for the preventive examination.

Vaccinations

You receive a vaccination from a doctor. It provides good protection against various diseases.

Children are usually vaccinated for the first time at the age of 2 months. The pediatrician will follow the Swiss vaccination schedule.

By getting vaccinated, you protect yourself from disease and take responsibility for society.

Sexual Harassment

Sexual harassment occurs when the victim's gender is the focus.

It can vary widely, including insults, comments about appearance, and physical assaults.

The Office for Social Services has published a guide on the issue of sexual harassment in the workplace.

Affected individuals should be encouraged to clearly define their boundaries and stand up for themselves. Employees are asked to help and support.

Employers are required by the Equal Treatment Act to ensure a harassment-free work environment.

Compensation for helplessness

Persons who live in Liechtenstein or have mandatory health insurance in Liechtenstein are entitled to compensation for helplessness. However, this is only applicable if they are helpless and do not have a claim to compensation for helplessness from the mandatory accident insurance or a comparable service from a foreign social security system.

Care Allowance

Persons who live in Liechtenstein are entitled to care and support allowances. They are entitled to this if they have a health-related need for care and support (expected to last longer than 3 months) or require assistance from other individuals for daily activities. The care allowance is earmarked. It is intended solely as compensation for caregivers (individuals or institutions).
